About

Dr. Sharon Geva is an Israeli historian, Senior Lecturer, and Head of the Department of History at the Kibbutzim College of Education, Technology and the Arts in Tel Aviv, specializing in women's and gender history. Her research focuses on Israeli society's perceptions of the Holocaust from a gender perspective, the history of women during the Holocaust, and the experiences of Israeli women, with a particular focus on female Holocaust survivors.

She is the author of three books: To the Unknown Sister: Holocaust Heroines in Israeli Society (2010, awarded the Mordechai Ish Shalom Prize in 2011), Women in Israel: The Early Years (Magnes Press, 2020), and Zivia Lubetkin and Yitzhak (Antek) Zuckerman: A Double Biography (2023).

The blog features essays on women's history and Holocaust memory in Israel — forgotten heroines and pioneers, op-eds originally published in Haaretz, and reflections on gender, politics, and public life, past and present.
